6. Summary

This story is about a boy
and his father.
The boy’s father
was a funny
and loving man
who told bedtime stories.

One of these stories
was about a giant
called The Big Friendly Giant,
or BFG for short.

The BFG was enormous
and made magic powders
from children’s dreams.

He caught dreams
by listening to their
soft sounds in the night.

The BFG used
good dreams
for his powders
and kept them
in bottles.

He visited houses
at night,
blew the powders
into sleeping
children’s rooms,
and turned their dreams
into real adventures.

The boy loved
his father very much
and asked many questions
about the BFG.

One night,
the father shared
that he had seen
the BFG once,
running on a hill
with a suitcase
and blowpipe.

It was thrilling
but not scary.
The boy asked
if his father
had ever seen
the BFG again,
but it was time for bed,
so his father
told him to sleep.
