Note of apology 

                   December 23rd, 2005

Dear Mr. Roberts

I am very sorry that I couldn’t hand in my essay on time. I wrote the essay last night, and put it on my desk. Then I went to sleep, for it was very late.

This morning, my essay wasn’t on my desk. My whole family helped me look for it, yet we couldn’t find it anywhere. My brother hasn’t seen it, nor did my sister know where it was.

 
As soon as I find my essay, I will hand it in.
