Comprehension:

a.   Read:

The jungle.

Andy is
a
reporter for
a
magazine and
his friend, Tom,
is

a photographer.

Their editor
asked Andy
to write an article
about jungle animals.

Tom had to take
the photographs.

They traveled
to three different jungles.

First, they went to
the Amazon Jungle
in South America.

While Tom was taking
lots of photographs,
Andy was writing about
the animals.

This is what he wrote:

“The Amazon Jungle
is also called

a rain forest.

A rain forest
is usually hot and wet
because it is near the equator
and it gets lots of rain.

Monkeys, birds, snakes
and iguanas live in the trees
or the canopy.

Anteaters and jaguars
live on the ground
or the jungle floor.

The jungle floor
is dark and damp,
because the canopy
stops sunlight from getting
to the ground.”

They left South America
and went to the jungle in India.

There they saw
some elephants, lions,
tigers and leopards.

The tigers had black stripes
on their bodies and
the leopards had black spots.

Finally, Andy and Tom
went to the jungle in Africa.

Tom took photographs of
a giraffe, some zebras,

a crocodile and
a rhinoceros.

The rhinoceros
had short legs,

a
fat body
and two horns on its nose.
It looked angry.

When they got back
to the magazine office,
they had lots of
photographs
and

a
very interesting article
to put in the magazine.
